Stefanos Tsakiris
winter 2022
Drawing inspiration from different urbanite playgrounds around the world, Greek
photographer Stefanos Tsakiris presents a contemporary series of black-and-white
photographs, capturing an atmosphere divided into motion and stillness.
Opening a conversation between carefully directed, yet casual snapshots, moments of
everyday life and hidden messages, the photographer invites viewers in a journey of visual rhyme across the notion of urban city living. Using his camera to capture common daily stories, he transforms an eye’s glimpse into a physical artwork, giving viewers the chance to take a minute, stare and think: This is how worlds are moving.
Being at the beating heart of the photography industry since 2004, Stefanos Tsakiris is a gradute of the School of Graphic Applied Arts and Artistic Studies and has been awarded with his team with the Guinness World Record in 2017. Picturing in private museum collections, underwater photography, fashion collaborations, advertising and teaching has led him to open his own studio named FotoGrapheion in Thessaloniki, Greece. He is the cocreator of the Janus Studio creative team and the bimonthly Anethiko Magazzino.
Atelier De Metry
spring 2021
Thessaloniki-born textile designer and printmaker De Metry founded his namesake atelier in 2019 embodying the intrinsic principles of natural materials, geometry and simplicity. 2018
heralded a pivotal moment in his path; over the course of a workshop on Screen Printing on Fabric at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London, De Metry experimented with fabrics and studied the preparation of screens for exposure, the mixing of pigments along with inks, as well as printmaking. These techniques enabled him to gain a much deeper understanding of his work. Throughout this process, De Metry mastered his way of conduct and he found his artistic fingerprint. This internal journey of creative maturity led him to design a series of limited edition prints to depict the balance generated by the proportional symmetry and a respectively violating asymmetry. De Metry has made printmaking his main key of expression, in order to transform this unorthodox contrast into an unprecedented, yet harmonious, piece of art that explores the dimensions of line and space.
